The 23-year-old talented Danish goalkeeper Sebastian Frandsen is the second goalkeeper who leaves the Danish top club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg after this season.

Press release of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg:

When the new season starts, there will be two new faces in the Bjerringbro-Silkeborg goal. Yesterday, Søren Rasmussen announced that he stopped at the club, and today Bjerringbro-Silkeborg can tell that Sebastian Frandsen is also looking for new challenges after this season.

"I have chosen to start over and find a new place with some new challenges. I'm going somewhere where I put a little more focus on myself and on my own development. I might not put that in focus when I chose Bjerringbro-Silkeborg," Sebastian Frandsen tells about the reasons for his club change.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper came to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg ahead of last season and was last season winning bronze at the Danish Championship and playing the team in the 1/8 final in the Champions League.

"When I look back at my time in Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, I have not had the career of what I hoped for, but I have definitely learned a lot that I can benefit from in my career."

The Champions League was a great experience

"Last season, experience was fantastic. I've got a taste of what it means to play in the Champions League. It was a great experience and it is good experience to have," says Sebastian Frandsen.

Last season, he had an injury for a few months and he has also been unlucky in this season. In mid-September, he was operated for a cartilage injury in his knee, and the doctor's verdict was six months away from the handball goal. Frandsen now hopes he can come back to the crucial matches and help make a difference to Bjerringbro-Silkeborg before moving on to new challenges.

"I hope to be back around March / April and be ready for the final games and the crucial matches in the EHF Cup. I'm working hard to get ready and help the team against our goal of playing finals."

In the process of finding a new goalkeeper team

At Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, head coach Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen also considers that it is best that the club and Sebastian Frandsen stop cooperation after the season. However, he still believes that the goalkeeper can now contribute to the team's success this spring.

"Both Sebastian Frandsen and we had great expectations for the cooperation, but it was not quite what both parties had hoped for. Therefore, we agreed that it is best that he is in another club."

"Right now we are working hard to bring Sebastian Frandsen back to his top level so he can perform in the crucial matches this spring," said Peter Bredsdorff-Larsen, who is already in full swing to find the goalkeeper team for the coming season.

Bjerringbro-Silkeborg expects to be able to publish the first of the club's two new goalkeepers for the coming season soon.

Earlier today, TV2 reported that Sebastian Frandsen is close to signing a contract with TTH Holstebro, while Kasper Larsen may be the new-old goalkeeper of BSV from next season. Read more here.

Besides Sebastian Frandsen is the 1st pick of the goalkeeper-post in Bjerringbro-Silkeborg, Søren Rasmussen, also past in the club after this season. Read more here.
