The Norwegian top club ØIF Arendal has sold their 29-year-old Danish left back Lars Jakobsen.

ØIF Arendal has agreed with a foreign club on a transfer of Lars Jakobsen. Lars' last game for ØIF Arendal will be home against Falk Horten Wednesday, 21/12 at 18:00. From January he'll leave Norway.

"Lars is a great person and has been an important player for us. When Lars wanted new sporting challenges and we could agree with his new club on a transfer, we chose to sell. We wish Lars good luck in his new club," says CEO Rune Jakobsen.

"I have only good things to say about ØIF Arendal. I was very happy in Arendal. When this opportunity arose, and it proved to be sporty interesting, I decided to accept. I will miss my teammates and friends in and around the club. I want to thank the club's employees, volunteers, sponsors and especially the fans for the support they have given me and ØIF. I look forward to taking on new challenges in 2017," says Lars Jakobsen.

Which club Lars Jakobsen going to, will be unveiled by his new club, but according to the Norwegian newspaper Agderposten has the Danish topscorer signed a contract with a Danish club.

Lars Jakobsen has among others previously played in Team Vesthimmerland and Skanderborg Håndbold in Denmark and Halden Tophåndball in Norway.
