The Swedish League club OV Helsingborg lends the 19-year-old Swedish left wing Axel Morand from the League rivals LUGI Handboll.

Press release from OV Helsingborg:

Following the announcement that Mattias Meltzer's injury absence is being longer than first calculated, OV Helsingborg has sought a replacement for him. In good cooperation with LUGI Handboll, OV Helsingborg has had the opportunity to lend their player Axel Morand. Axel is a future name in Swedish handball and plays in the Swedish youth national team. Axel debuted last season in the Swedish League and with his 194 cm Axel has both length and range

"We are very pleased to have succeeded in finding a truly competent replacement for Meltzer in such a short time," says Filip Karlsson, Sports Manager OV Helsingborg. "In OV, Axel will complete Emil Lindqvist as a left wing, which will develop both players," concludes Filip Karlsson.

"Getting the opportunity to play in OV Helsingborg feels like a tough but fun challenge for me. A challenge that means that I learn to take more responsibility and therefore develop as a handball player," says Axel Morand.

Furthermore, LUGI Handboll has extended the contract with Axel Morand to the summer of 2021.

OV Helsingborg is with 2 points in 10 matches placed second to last in the Swedish League. LUGI Handboll has 14 points in 10 matches and is placed 5th.
