Mariusz Jurasik is no longer the head coach of the Polish club SPA Pogón Szczecin.

The Board of the Polish PGNiG Superliga club SPA Pogón Szczecin has decided to terminate the contract with the head coach of the club, Mariusz Jurasik, with immediate effect.

Mariusz Jurasik leaves the Polish club after only three months. It is the second time the former Polish national player is sacked this season. In October the Polish club Gornik Zabrze terminated his contract as head coach after only 8 matches.

By the end of the season the team of Pogón Szczecin will instead be led by the duo Rafał Biały and Sławomir Fogtman.

The main reason for parting ways with coach Mariusz Jurasik was according to the clubs website different visions of leading the team.

Mariusz Jurasik is a Polish handball legend. He played 207 caps and scored 704 goals from 1997 to 2012 for the Polish national team, with whom he won silver at the World Championship in Germany in 2007 and bronze at the World Championship in Croatia in 2009. In 2007 he was named the best right wing of the World Championship in Germany. He is the player with 8th most goals and 8th most appearances of the Polish national team in the history.
