The Swedish goalkeeper of the Spanish vice champions Naturhouse La Rioja, Richard Kappelin, allegedly replaces the Montenegrin goalkeeper of the Swedish champions IFK Kristianstad, Nebojsa Simic, after this season.

It has long been in the cards that the Montenegrin goalkeeper Nebojsa Simic would leave IFK Kristianstad after this season. The rumors will know, that he replaces the Danish goalkeeper René Villadsen in the ambitious German club, MT Melsungen.

Now it appears that the Swedish Champions League participants IFK Kristianstad has found the successor. According to the local Swedish newspaper Kristianstadsbladet has IFK Kristianstad signed a 3-year contract with the 33-year-old Swedish goalkeeper of Spanish Naturhouse La Rioja, Richard Kappelin, who has a contract that expires at the end of the season.

Richard Kappelin started his career in Swedish IK Sävehof. He has won the U21 World Championship with Sweden in 2003. He won the Swedish Championship with IK Sävehof in 2004 and since moved to the league rivals Alingsås HK.

In 2010 he started his foreign adventure. He has played in Spanish Cuenca 2016 (2010–2012) and BM Aragón (2012), Qatari Al Gharafa (2013), Danish Aalborg Håndbold (2013–2014), French Sélestat Alsace handball (2014–2015) and from 2015 in Spanish Naturhouse La Rioja.

According to Kristianstadsbladet the Swedish goalkeeper will be presented in Kristianstad on Friday.
