Johannessen to Flensburg

Already in September the rumors of Gøran Johannessen to SG Flensburg-Handewitt after this season occured. Today, the sports director of GOG, Kasper Jørgensen, confirmed the transfer.

In September the Danish newspaper Fyens Stiftstidende revealed, that the duo of the Danish League, Gøran Johannessen and Magnus Jøndal from GOG and Simon Hald from Aalborg Håndbold, would join the German top club SG Flensburg-Handewitt after this season (read more here).

Today, after the match in the Danish Cup between GOG and Århus Håndbold, the sports director of GOG, Kasper Jørgensen, confirmed the rumors of the Norwegian national back court player Gøran Johannessen to SG Flensburg-Handewitt in an interview with the Danish TV-channel TV2:

"From the first day I met at the office, the first player was there to say he had found a new club from the coming season. (...) It was Gøran (Johannessen, ed.) who already early told that he had received a fantastic offer from Flensburg."

Besides Gøran Johannessen, the sports director of GOG, Kasper Jørgensen, has confirmed to TV2 that also Mark Strandgaard, Magnus Jøndal and Henrik Jakobsen leaves the club after this season. Read rumors about the players here.
