As written yesterday the Icelandic right back of Rhein-Neckar Lowen, Alexander Petersson, has extended his contract with two years to the summer of 2019.

The German champions Rhein-Neckar Löwen has the right back duo in place for the next two years. The 36-year-old experienced former Icelandic national player, Alexander Petersson, has extended his contract, which expired at the end of the season, with two more years to the summer of 2019.

"Alex is a key player of our team. How important he is for us, we have only seen again yesterday," praises Oliver Roggisch, Sporting Director of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen to the clubs website.

"I am very happy that we have Alex in our team. He is an absolute performer and showcase professional. At the same time, he is an important leader for our young players with his experience," says Löwen's Managing Director Jennifer Kettemann in a press release.

"My family and I feel incredibly comfortable in the Rhein-Neckar region, so it was my wish to extend my contract with the lions once again. I still have a real desire for handball and I hope to continue to celebrate the championship with the lions in the coming years," said the Icelandic right back, who came to the club from Füchse Berlin in 2012.
