Szeged buys Sigurmannsson from Aalborg

The Hungarian top club Pick Szeged buys the Icelandic national player of the Danish top club Aalborg Håndbold, Stefan Sigurmannsson.

Aalborg Håndbold has sold the 26-year-old Icelandic left wing, Stefan Sigurmannsson, to the Hungarian club Pick Szeged after this season. Stefan Sigurmannsson had two years left of his contract until 2019 with Aalborg Håndbold.

"Stefan Sigurmannsson has got a chance to switch to the Hungarian big club and when we got our demands met, the deal fell into place. At the same time we are well covered at the position with Buster Juul" says director of Aalborg Håndbold, Jan Larsen to www.aalborghaandbold.dk

"I am glad that Aalborg Håndbold allows me to move to Pick Szeged. Now I along with the rest of the team has full focus on the remaining matches of the regular season in the league, so we get the best possible basis for the playoffs. It looks awesome", says Stefan Sigurmannsson who came to Aalborg Håndbold from Rhein-Neckar Löwen before this season.

Pick Szeged confirms, that he club has signed a 2-year contract to the summer of 2019 with Stefan Sigurmannsson and that the current left wing of the Hungarian club, Bendegúz Bóka, leaves the club after this season.

Stefan Sigurmannsson will form a duo with the Swedish left wing, Jonas Källman, after this season.
